To all those who came to visit us in Germany. Thank you !
Meeting existing clients, and introducing our collection of Rarity handbags to new buyers was our aim when attending Ambiente 2017, and the show certainly delivered with a reported 136 000 visitors from 143 Countries. We received contacts from many European Countries, and we look forward to the possibility of entering new markets that include ,Poland, Bulgaria and Norway. We were also very happy with the high number of visits we received from Asian buyers and distributors , including Japan, China and South Korea, reminding us we don’t need to fly to Tokyo to meet Japanese Distributors.
Rarity was nominated as an ETHICAL TRADER by the Ambiente Jury, thus appealing to the growing global consumer, and buyer, who wants to source and sell responsibly made accessories. We were happy to see that the trend is gaining strength in global markets, as more countries require a level of commitment to these principles in top end consumer goods trade.
As a provisional WFTO member we were one of 49 companies represented at this event, the largest consumer show in the world. A wide range of product lines, from home to personal accessories was on offer, all of these high-quality, exquisite products that are artisan made, many handcrafted using long-standing traditional techniques.
Of the 49 organisations, 25 were guaranteed members whose products bear the WFTO Product Label. These members have passed the WFTO Guarantee System, a rigorous participatory process of verifying the organisation’s compliance with the international principles of Fair Trade. As we commence with our international verification audit, we hope soon to be able to use this labelling on all our products as well.
Rarity would like to thank the many organisations who made our participation possible. Thank you to the CBI for selecting us once again, and for our large well positioned exhibition area. We are grateful to Phaff for the logistical support provided before and during the exhibition. Thank you to the DTI for our marketing campaign, and for their ongoing support of our expansion into export markets.
So now the fun starts as we start production on all the orders received. We can’t wait to share our African design, and to connect with some new South African buyers we went all the way to Germany to meet.
